SPOILERS AHEAD from tonight’s episode of Gotham.

A vital lesson to take from tonight’s episode? Don’t mess with Ed Nygma.

Mayorhood isn’t quite working out the way Oswald (Robin Lord Taylor) thought it’d be. The Redhood gang is on the rise, and their leader, Butch (Drew Powell). Turns Butch is jealous of Ed Nygma’s (Cory Michael Smith) new role has Oswald’s second-in-command. His way of getting his old position back, creating a fake Redhood gang, to demolish Oswald’s hard work as Mayor, and setup the gang to kill him at his party, only for Butch to kill them all single-handedly to earn back Oswald’s affection. But things don’t go according to plan, and why would they when Oswald has Nygma by his side.

Ed’s back on the case, and quickly discovers what Butch has done, and backs Butch into a corner, causing him to murder his men ahead of schedule. The act seems to get Bucth back in Oswald’s good grace, but Ed has his own plans. Ed persuades Butch to turn on Oswald and kill him, or he’ll have Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan) kill Tabitha. Still holding a torch for Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) Butch agrees to kill Oswald.

Unfortunately Butch couldn’t see past Ed’s trick, and is caught attempting to kill Oswald with blanks, and is revealed to everyone has the leader of the Redhood gang. Feeling hurt and betrayed, Butch tries to kill Ed, before Oswald steps in and saves Ed from being strangled to death, and Butch is later taken away by ambulance.

Tabitha breaks free from her captures, and hunts down the ambulance that took Butch. Seems like Tabitha is still holding on to the same torch.
Jim (Ben McKenzie) and Bruce (David Mazouz) take a step forward in their love life. Bruce finally tells Selina (Camren Bicondova) how he feels, and even gets a kiss, while Jim takes over, and relieves Valerie’s date. Ivy (Maggie Geha) reemerges herself in Gotham, but keeps her identity a secret, even from Selina. And it seems like she might have a bit resentment towards Selina. Maybe because she couldn’t save Ivy?

Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) is no where near gone, and is all ready on the hunt for his new Alice, but so far no such luck. Especially for the poor girl who didn’t make the cut at the end. Vowing to make those who killed her pay, Jerivs leaves a note for Jim, writing ‘James Gordon‘ in blood on an invitation card.
