Debbie (Emma Kennedy) just keeps spiralling out of control, and is just digging the hole deeper, and deeper, and soon she won’t be able to climb her way out. Having no job, no babysitter, Debbie takes to the streets to beg for money in hopes that she’ll make enough money so Fiona won’t kick her out. Debbie has a brief reunion with Derek’s sister, who offers babysitting services, but Debbie is quick to brush her off, with reassurance that everything is fine. But when homeless woman claims the spot Debbie is working belongs to her, the two engage in fight which one, puts
Franny, Harry in danger, and two, is recorded on camera. Later, a home visit by child protective services puts Debbie, Harry, and now possibly Fiona in a very difficult, and tricky situation.
Will Fiona (Emmy Rossum) intervene if Debbie’s situation starts to swing away from Debbie’s favor, or will she continue to stand on the sidelines, and let Debbie learn from her own mistakes? After all, all season long Fiona has distances herself from the Gallagher family, and her friends, to make improvements on her life. Which she really seems to be doing for herself. She has risen Patsy’s up from the gutter, and made it a success, and has gotten two (still low) raises in a short amount of time. And it seems thanks to Tinder, Fiona’s found herself a financial advisor who can help her make more money.
Someone else who is looking for more money is Lip (Jeremy Allen White), and it seems this working for free as an intern isn’t working for him. Now that Lip has a temporary administrator account that allows him to have access to the company’s funding, he makes an impromptu visit to an old college friend, and the two work together to hack into the company’s account and wire funds into their own bank accounts.
Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) is trying to get into military school, and gets a references letter from Dominique’s dad. But with limited space available to those of color, Carl works hard to prove that he has African American blood. But a DNA test proves that he’s actually part Apache.
Things seem to be going well for Frank (William H. Macy). His homeless shelter has been bought by an investor who is passionate about the well being of the homeless, and is willing to givipe Frank whatever he needs. Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is learning more and more about the LGBTQ community, and it seems like he and Trevor (Elliot Fletcher) might be something more then friends.
