SPOILERS AHEAD from tonight’s episode.

From day one, out of all the Gallagher’s, I did not see Debbie falling down this path. Trying to make sure Child Protective Services doesn’t take Franny away, by marrying Neil (whom she just met), and becoming his caregiver. While Debbie (Emma Kennedy) claims to care for him, one can’t help but think if it’s her love for Franny, and/or desperation for security that is driving her love. I’m going for the latter. But being underage, Debbie can’t marry Neil without the consent of a parent. And since Frank won’t sign, not because he thinks his daughters too young, but because Neil doesn’t make enough in disability. But Frank isn’t Debbie’s only opinion. Legally, Fiona is Debbie’s guardian, and surprisingly, Fiona agrees to sign consent.

Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is making more choices to better her future, and the newer addition, buying the laundry mat across the street for $80, 000. Of course if things don’t follow through with the laundry, it’s going to be everyone that suffers, because as collateral damage, Fiona put down the house. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) shows zero support for this decision, and tries to talk Fiona into backing out. But is Fiona wrong for risking the house? Or is Lip threatened by Fiona’s success while he was kicked out school, forced to undergo treatment for alcoholism, and works for free as an intern? Throughout the entire season, it’s been hard not to back Fiona in her choices and hope for nothing but success for her. It’s unfortunate that her own family can’t support her in bettering her life, after the sacrifices she’s made.

But another Gallagher that is hoping to better his life is Carl (Ethan Cutkosky). There were a few moments in tonight’s episode where it seemed like Carl was going to back out of his decision to go to Military School, and maybe get back together with Dominique. But after a quick drive with Mr. Winslow where the two meet up with Dominique and her new beau, any thought of getting back together leaves his mind. Turns out there was no real reason for Carl to undergo his surgery, since Dominique’s new beau isn’t circumcised. Furious Carl shares a little tidbit that the new boyfriend didn’t know, and that’s that Dominique has ……. Unfortunately there was no going away party for Carl since no one could get their ducks in a row, Carl was however given a pep talk that pushes past his uncertainty, and gets him on the greyhound bus.

Lip had very little time to marvel in his glory about hacking into the company’s security system and stealing money from them, because days later the DEA busts the place, and the company is shut down, leaving Lip to take care of his bosses dog. Ian (Cameron Monaghan) experienced his first death on the job when he couldn’t save a patient from a car accident, ironically caused by a

Frank’s (William H. Macy) glory as leader/father of his new family has been squashed, when New Lip overhears Debbie say that Frank is hiding money, finds his stash, and rats him out to the family. Frank is thrown out the window, left with a broken foot, an arm in a sling, and eating pizza off a park bench.

A big shocker in tonight’s episode was when Kevin (Steve Howey) and Veronica (Shanola Hampton) walked in on Svetlana (Isidora Goreshter) and her father having sex. But when they confronted her on the matter, she revealed to them that Yvan is her husband, not her father.
