Bjorn and his men have arrived in Franica, and are taken to meet with Rollo, as well as his wife Gisla and their children. Bjorn asks is he, and his men can have safe passage across the Mediterranean, but Rollo refuses and locks them away. While Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and the others are imprisoned, Bjorn is scolded by Halfdan and Harald for trusting Rollo. Meanwhile Rollo (Clive Standen) and Gisla are having their own argument as Rollo is fighting off the urge to return to his old life. Releasing Bjorn from prison, Rollo promises safe passage, but only if Rollo accompanies them on their raid. After setting sail, Bjorn gives the order to keelhaul Rollo. After a few moments, Bjorn orders Rollo be pulled up, who then laughs.

On the beaches of Wessex lay the ruin of Ragnar’s ships, and Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) finds the remains of Ragnar’s raven sail. Reporting the news to King Ecbert (Linus Roache), who seems unbothered, believing Ragnar is nothing but a single man.

Having survived the storm, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Ivar (Alex Hogh) makes plans to set out on their own, and head to the Royal Villa. To travel undetected, Ragnar and Ivar slaughter their men, fellow Vikings, and later arrive at the Royal Villa and surrender themselves.

With Ragnar, Ivar, Bjorn, and Hvitserk gone, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) prepares her army to attack Kattegat. Laying a trap for Ubbe and Sigurd, Lagertha imprisons them and she and her warriors descend on Kattegat. As Lagertha and her men battle, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) is preparing for either surrender, or battle herself. Before there is too much blood shed, Lagthera puts an end to the fight, claiming these are her people.
