Bates Motel S5Ep1 “Dark Paradise” Revies/Recap

Two years have passed, and surprise, Dylan and Emma aware married and have a daughter. While celebrating her birthday, Caleb shows up, and asks to stay with them for a few days. Dylan breaks the news that Caleb was the one who paid for her surgery, but regardless of his gratitude, Dylan is uncomfortable having his astranged father. Doing what’s best for Dylan, Emma asks Caleb to leave.

Romero is still in prison, and is denied his request for parole.

Norman is running the Motel, but while the outside worlds has moved on from Norma’s death, Norman still “interacts” with Norma while at the house. But when Norman tries to purchase exterior paint for the motel, he finds someone else’s wallet in his pocket. Rushing home, Norman confronts Norma about the wallet, which she shrugs off, not knowing where it came from, and tells him to put it in the safe. A mystery guest checks into the motel by the name of David Davidson to have an affair with a mystery woman, and it’s only a matter of time before they too become Norman’s next victims. Madeleine Loomis who works at the hardware store Norman visited eariler, and brings him the paint he tried to purchase. While Madeleine seems intrigued with Norman, Norman interest in her may have something more to do with her baring a strong resemblance Norma. When Norman tries to leave the house later that evening to attend a ‘small business meeting’ Norma freaks, and shows him to the basement, where in the freezer is the man whose wallet Norman had. Together Norman and Norma dispose of the man’s body in the middle of the river. While dumping the man, his phone rings and when Norman answers it, it’s Romero’s voice that is on the other end.
