It’s definitely been awhile since I’ve read a book with a great twist ending. It Takes One holds your attention until the very end. Not only is it the compelling story that locks you in, but Kessler has written a strong, intelligent, flawed, and complex character in Audrey Hart.

Audrey returns home for what she thought would be a quiet family reunion. But all thoughts of a quiet, small town vacation is put on hold when a body is discovered on the local beach. But small towns hold deep secrets, and many of them hit close to home. Some a little too close for comfort.

As the prime suspect in the murder, Audrey finds herself trap in the one place she longs to leave behind, and yet can’t seem to escape. And some residents of Edgeport there don’t seem too eager to have her return. Old horrors, and past memories thought to be longer buried are dug up, and Audrey must battle with past demons, all while trying to clear her name.

Would I recommend: Yes. If you’re into solving mysteries, and playing detective along side the lead then this is the book for you.

My Overall rating: 5/5 stars
